I read this and I’ve now spent about 30 minutes wondering about the lives of the respective parties involved given what we know from the obit. Take what we know about Kathleen Dehmlow: Married at 18-19 (so young), two kids and pregnant with a third by 24 (still really young). Moves to California, abandoning two kids…
That whole obit is a Minnesota euphemism for “she was a feckless cunt”.

This story is disgusting in several different ways.
The believability should RAISE the level of fear, not reduce it.
Shades of the Jim Jones cult in Guyana. These sane senators should take it in shifts to show up and demand to be taken into the facility. Now that they’ve turned away Merkeley, Feinstein at al should just get on a plane and show up in sequence, until they all get arrested, or somebody actually lets us look inside.
Senator: It’s at this point that you’re supposed to refuse to leave until you have been allowed in or until the police forcibly removed you. This kind of demonstration only works if you (a) get in or (b) get arrested. There is no (c) leave willingly but perturbed.
I find myself both annoyed and relieved by the amount of attention family detention is getting now. This is not surprising. Remember when CBP or ICE would not let Senators access to people they were holding at the airports? One of those incidents was here at IAD in the DC area and the Senators/Representatives were denied access to people being held. Same as it ever was.
Even lawyers can’t get in to these detention facilities.
