It’s been reported elsewhere that no final decision was made when Trump tweeted. I suppose she has to do this dance because she can’t admit the president is an idiot.

I pointed that out in a discussion earlier today, and the person defending Ryan dismissed it as a “laughable” criticism. He maintained that Ryan was one of the few honorable, honest people in Washington.

Exactly... it just seems...oddly timed. It could also be that he legitimately doesn’t want to lose come November, which would be humiliating.

That was my first thought as well. There have been persistent whispers that the reason Ryan and McConnell are unwilling to stand up to Trump is because there is plenty of dirt on them, particularly with regard to Russian financing and hacked data being strategically deployed in close House/Senate races.

Yep, that’s how the last election went. Thinking we’re too good for idiocy to prevail is definitely not enough.

There is no guarantee Dems will win the House and/or Senate. We need to get involved - donate, calls, hit the streets. Sitting back and hoping the GOP is just going to implode is NOT going to be enough.
