This episode is top five for me. Everyone is at their best, Aida Turturro especially. The direction is incredible (except that fucking freeze frame) and it's just gorgeous throughout (upstate New York always helps with that—"the bullshit really falls away up there."). I love Uncle Pat and Louise, and this is such an

Edie Falco is so, so good in this episode. Everyone is, really. I love the party, and the scene around the table where Carmela, her mom, and AJ find out that Hugh knows about his party is amazing front to back. Look at everyone's reaction faces throughout.

"He was a whoremaster."

"with someone who’s the one true innocent in the world of The Sopranos (with the possible exception of Meadow)."

I cannot stop laughing at this.

It looks like jam or jelly and I can't handle it either.

Silvio doesn't slap Tracee. He straight-up punches her in the face.

We now prefer "females."

Who's reading Edgar Allan Poe in college? Jackie Jr. is the worst.

I love the Paulie/Little Paulie hair connection so much.

The end of "Join the Club" paired with Moby's "When It's Cold I'd Like to Die" is fucking devastating.

SPOILERS:

No one's mentioned this, but there's a great moment in "Commendatori" when the guys are trying unsuccessfully to watch The Godfather. Christopher's messing with the DVD player, and the only thing that shows up is the FBI warning. Meanwhile, in the same room, Pussy is trying to get information about Junior out of Tony.

I can only watch one of those multiple times.
