The fact that these students not only know what transphobia is but are standing up against it in the school administration warms my heart. The administrators may suck, but the kids are alright.
@RobespierreHasComeUndone: My advice: don't be too complacent, it might spread. My allergy started out with shrimp and then spread to other crustaceans. I can still eat bivalves though. I have no idea why, but I've been told by my allergist that those types of allergies are fairly common and that it's possible that it…
@REALTALK: My boy transferred schools this year and while I do miss spending time with him, I do not miss watching him play WoW. At all.
@boxspelunker: I'm not gonna lie, I suggested this to a friend earlier this weekend, but how about Carmen Sandiego?
@poof and gone: Seeing Double. Also known as, the S Club Movie - written by the same genius behind Spice World. It's about clones.
I think this is a story that clearly needs to be told - of how women are treated, of how rape survivors are treated in other countries. The question is: how do we tell these serious stories with new media? How do we use Twitter, something that is generally seen as a place for short, sometimes off-the-cuff remarks, to…
Truth: I learned about the dangers of UTIs from commenters here. I've never had a UTI and I'm pretty sure I owe that to this website.
To be fair, that last detail along with some of the others did show up in a Washington Post article about a week and a half ago.
I'm looking forward to the inevitable OKC horror stories in Groupthink. Don't disappoint me, McDonald's!
Someone actually did think that about my father and me once from far away and was appalled that she was seeing a man with someone so much younger. But then she got closer, realized she knew us and that it was in fact, a father and daughter. I don't worry about it though, I know he's my father and that's really what's…
"Predatorial" may not be a word, but she would have failed that one as long as her word was something other than "Peter Pan"
And lest Ms. Manning-Schaffel forget, some young boys are girl-crazy as well. I was never that boy-crazy, but as a preschooler/young elementary school student I was like catnip to the fellas. Seriously, one of my friend's older brothers would come unbuckle me from my car seat and take my teeny tiny preschool backpack…
I was just wondering about this. I had noticed the one in BCBG and then counted for Herve Leger and Max Azria. It was especially striking since it seems a lot of shows have been more diverse than usual. Glad to know others were wondering about it too. Great post, Jenna.
I honestly don't see Tavi at Conde Nast. I could see her at a foreign Vogue (maybe the next Anna Dello Russo), or a more niche fashion publication (Paper, Love, Pop, Lula...) but unless Conde Nast completely changes Vogue, I don't see Tavi in that position.
@The_Beermonger: I went to Franklin Sherman too. Also, the reason it looks different is because it finally got renovations/remodeling (real walls!) like a year and a half. It looks completely different on the inside than it used to.

As a real bonus, the public elementary school nearby is totally the best (not that I went there. With Mary Amons' son). Also, not everyone in McLean is a Republican! I swear.
I'm not the only one who was reminded of this, right?
