‘I don’t have people. I’m alone.”

Tell me about it. I can teach you how to do it for $50 a month.

I didn't understand a single word of this article...

I came here to make the same joke. Like, word for word. Uncanny.

the true equivalence is that they’re all garbage people

“But seriously, if you were going to be around Ron Jeremy, wouldn’t you assume that I’d be a little bit touchy feely?” he said. “Yes. This is what I do for a living.”

In general I think 95% of complains about “political correctness” are total horseshit, but this may be one of those rare instances where it isn’t. This reeks of Netflix frantically trying to expunge anything vaguely controversial that could generate outrage.

Remember when The AV Club would report the news, rather than tell you the specific, exact response you should have to it?

You forgot Denzel, the most important of heroic on screen pilots, because he showed us that cocaine makes you do your job better.

You forgot about a cocaine-infused Denzel flying a plane filled with passengers upside down.

Speaking as Python fan for over forty years, I really don’t give a shit.

Obligatory:

I wonder what Carruth does for money. Dan Sallitt just released a self-funded film about 7 years after his last one, but he has a day job.

I can understand antipathy toward the modern Hollywood environment, although I kind of feel like Carruth wishes that people would give him millions of dollars to make movies that will probably end up being wildly unprofitable. There’s certainly value to society at large in funding unprofitable artistic ventures, but

Primer’s all about plot, whereas Upstream Color is a much more emotional film. I’m sure there’s a large number of people who like one but not the other.

Because of Primer, I would see anything Shane Carruth did, but Upstream Color went completely over my head. There wasn’t anything in it I could latch on to.

Feel sort of dumb now that I never realized who Dakota Johnson’s dad was.

“The best Star Trek movie is a comedy.”
