That's funny, I had an almost exact opposite initial reaction. Although I did still love the first 2 episodes, it took me a while to warm up to them, I'll probably like them better on a second viewing. However I'm completely perplexed with your gorgeously shot assertion, a large portion of the first two episodes

Or maybe atheists just get whoever's free that day. As you mentioned, Anubis in America (or elsewhere for that matter probably) doesn't get much opportunity to do his job.

Well maybe Anubis' test doesn't actually mean anything in her cause if it's just oblivion waiting for her.

Bast was great in the Sandman comics.

The horse is a metaphor for symbolism.

What about "fuck off and die *or* I'm going to kill you"?

Did it seem to anyone else that the first two episodes were shot on a lower quality digital camera, similar to Inland Empire, while the next ones seemed to have a better film-like quality? I wonder if that was intentional as it seems to match thematically as well.

"The Pelicans are not what they seem."

Hmm, so this is just a long exposure from a camera pointed at the screen. Now if you were to actually take each raw digital frame and average each pixel mathematically I can't imagine it would leave anything recognizable.

Oh that'll be even worse then. :)

I feel sorry for the person that has to actually pick which speech to use. I would assume literally every single speech no matter the audience contains long rambling sections about himself.

The correct answer is, none. There are none good drum solos.

I didn't know voles were real animals.

You know at this point I kinda think Chris Hardwick should brought before the Hague for crimes against humanity for unleashing companion talk shows on the world.

God I know. I'm sure that was fucking Damon Lindelof's idea. Oh it's just some big albino alien body builder.

You mean the "try to get elected President despite being completely unqualified and deranged and only doing it to boost your brand and not expecting to actually win" challenge?

LOL I was just joking about someone putting a spoiler tag on a Twin Peaks related discussion.

Well they could always rebrand themselves as the "Bryan Cranston Experience" or something I guess.

Eraserhead, fear of fatherhood, right? End of discussion.
Inland Empire, a woman in trouble.
Twin Peaks, troubled girl killed by father.
The Straight Story, old man hops on lawn mower to see brother.
Elephant Man, the elephant man, duh
Blue Velvet, Dale Cooper's original story
Wild at Heart, Nicolas Cage being Nicolas Cage
