...except that he was already there. “Amish Paradise” was only his 4th highest-charting single at the time (“Eat It”, “Like a Surgeon” and “Smells Like Nirvana” all charted higher).

That is a complete misread of history. Weird Al was already appearing in movies and TV as himself. Let’s not forget to mention that his popularity was enough that he was given his own movie.

Did it? It didn’t hurt his career for sure but “Eat it” and “I’m Fat” both were parodying the King of Pop.

Charlie Brooker (The Black mirror creator), when he was writing his articles for The Guardian wrote a bit about when he met Coolio , and he seemed like a nice chap.

At least now we know that he did, in fact, live to see 24.

sale isn’t final yet. still going through regulatory sweep.

I don’t know about hosting, but after the hype for the biopic I would love to see Weird Al at least get a musical guest spot.

people get so weird about the Hulk film it had Robert Downey Jr. in it.

If you’re determined to pull the first host of the season from Tom Gun: Maverick, why not do the obvious choice and bring back in Jon Hamm, who can also promote the new Fletch movie? Who out there is saying, “I don’t normally watch Saturday Night Live, but gosh darn it, if Miles Teller is hosting, COUNT ME IN”?

Zahn McClarnon

You didn’t pay me nearly enough to deal with the real world consequences of the hate speech dog whistling you refuse to acknowledge, Ted.”

It’s a dumb nursery rhyme, just because racists replaced “tiger” with the n-word doesn’t stop it from being a dumb nursery rhyme

Tonally the movie was all over the damn place. So I’m not surprised that a movie goes from “Jane has terminal cancer” to “Thor finds his sole surviving childhood friend half-alive and mutilated, then makes a joke about her missing arm” also included a scene where Gorr carves off his own tattoos.

I can honestly believe that the puzzle writers were too stupid to know the origins of this rhyme, and that this was done from ignorance instead of malice.

We both do, at least enough to log in and type out some shite commentary.

Haha. So money talks even louder than your “holier than thou” attitude. Hypocricy at its best! She gives a great example to her fanboys.

They go up after the broadcast airing on regular AMC, not the streaming airing on AMC+ which occurs a week earlier.

I grew up eating the scalloped and au gratin potatoes from the box. LOVED them! Almost made the meatloaf palatable.

I loved hearing Kevin Smith's stories about their friendship post-Dogma. When Kevin and Ralph Garman took their podcast to a UK tour, Alan showed up to one of them, which, I want journal entries about their show skits like Inappropriate Toys and Your Town's Got a Fucked Up Name.

I don’t remember an interview like this where he’s discussed his character of The Mayor in Portlandia. I love his performance as this eager, sincere, somewhat clueless, friendly politician who just wants what he feels is good for his city.
