There is *some* (minimal) merit to what you are saying, and I’m not sure I’d go so far as to call them heroes, but I would point out a few things:

I lived in LA in the early 70's. The air was fucking brown. No matter how fucking stupid people are, most of them agree that brown air is really harmful to humans. They are not storing the data in the blockchain. They’re just storing the metadata in the blockchain. The data itself is stored in standard blob storage providers. You can look up information about Blockstack and the Gaia storage network it uses for more details.
