It’s just as childish and annoying when shows go out of their way to steer clear of “bad words” as it is when shows go out of their way to inject “bad words”.

I don’t care what quote you want to show me.

Right on. Carry on being obtuse then. It’s not going to stop the next generation of artists from using these utilities to express themselves better. Bye!

Well, whenever you deign to indulge in the utility of these systems (read: not spend a week playing with them), to understand them in any sense other than “academic”, I look forward to you finally “getting” it. I know it’s hard for you to see it, from bare argument, but you’re essentially arguing that using references

I don’t care what you think you don’t care about.

You’re trying to understand me in a way that minimizes your work. That’s your prerogative, but it’s unfair. I’m not saying that artists are like fax machines. I’m saying that artists get ideas that they are pretty certain won’t pan out, but that they would like to explore, anyway. And that using concept and drafting

Don’t mistake me for a bootlicker. While I’m sure these systems are quite profitable and will be misused in the name of that profit, that’s not why I think they have value.

In fairness, Luke is just fearmongering about shit he doesn’t understand, so it’s only incredulous if you’re viewing it through the lens of a non-artist who doesn’t use utilities to generate art telling you about a field which he doesn’t participate in.

Can confirm. Not much to add, but everthing both you and Mick say rings true for my time at THQ and its partners (pre-revival). The game dev industry is bloated with shitty people who do nothing but “manage”, and do it poorly.
