Nah, I am not THE crazy about driving guy at our DE events. I am not selling my house (yet) for one with more/better garage space, nor do I bring more than 1 car to a weekend, or bring a mechanic to drive my trailer and provide trackside support. I may do that someday, but I am not that crazy (yet).

Good taste and good sense is what he NEEDS.

I started to track my track car parts by days so I could stay ahead of the curve and have a spare at hand. Then I started to convert to the per-hour or per-minute cost. Once you run Hoosiers, Pagid Yellow for 7-9 track days per set, and 100 octane at 6 mpg, this is NOT an exercise you want to think about, nor share

Dremel, 3D Printer... How is that NOT the Torchinsky way?

I am confused. The Patriots attempt at giving supervision is “not what he needed.”

If you mean a FICO score as “Yeah, having a relative at a march, or not pay taxes while in a MAGA hat, not being ‘right’ when you should be .... you didn’t recite loudly enough that 2+2=5”.

Now playing

This idea isn’t one that is new.  Scary as heck, and not the future I hope for any of us.

My first car that was ‘mine’ was a ‘79 Shit-vette we bought for under $500 in late ‘85. I named it “Dexter” - possibly from a dealer tag, or something. This was amended over time to “Dexter, the gutless scum puppy from hell.”

My friend collects Citroens and other French cars.  I believe he has a Mehari.  I will be at his vineyard in about 2 weeks.  I will take pics, I promise.

I would vote Chris Harris, Rory, Alex Goy (I had him in my initial pick after the Trio departed).   I would happily support Stef or Fancy Kristen, and Mike Levitas.

Turned on my TV at 9:00 am to see... podium awards and the wrap up.

Great work, $kay. One of my ‘always read’ links was anything related to COTD. My wife still gives me a side-eye about Jalopnik -“I read it for the comments!”

One of those fads that I just never understood.

6%?  That is a 1:30 vs. a 1:35 lap time at a track like Summit Point Main (WV).  A big difference, but that is also a big cost difference as well.

And then there is a cost-cutting measure that erodes or takes away the retirement benefits that were promised, and yahoos yell about entitlements.

A 25 year old rents a Maclearen and hoons it, gets a ticket?

We have started to discuss left foot braking, in the context of selltling the car in preparation for a high speed turn under throttle. I gave him 3 Track days in my track car when he graduated high school last year. He ended up with one of the great Spec Boxster racers in our area as an instructor. He is hooked. I

My son’s E36 was in need of some part. He grabbed the keys to Grandma’s Subaru. He gets in and just sits there. After a few minutes, he had to ask how to start and drive without a clutch or stick.

I had a crap first car, then kept ‘saving’ what I called a car payment with an eye to the future. Drive each car until it dies or can’t do what you need it to. Buy the next one used. Keep saving every month.

And it comes in Angry Cheeto Orange. Even more appropriate now. That must be why all the other symbols and meanings are “issues on both sides. Some good, very good people” defend that shit forever.
