It looks more like Princess Eugenie’s ring to me. I think the popping pink is a better look for her than Eugenie’s vintage pink though. Looking forward to whatever whacky wedding gown she wears, though I do hope she grows her hair out a bit.

It’s similar to the Princess Diana engagement ring (Diana’s was a sapphire surrounded by 14 small diamonds, Katy’s appears to be an amethyst or ruby surrounded by 8, larger diamonds)

I actually really love the ring. It seems perfectly suited to Perry’s brand of whimsy.

I need to thank you for this link to the best wiki of all time. I’m HOOTING. In the context of 2019 I’m not down with this degree of beating people up but as a 17th century woman.....GET IT, Julie. Do what you need to do.

On a related note, I’d like to believe that the last recorded part of this historical figure’s life -

Also, as often as not, women didn’t so much “enter” convents as they were shipped away to them. This doesn’t sound to me like a story of a woman renouncing her vows, but rather escaping captivity.

RIP Albert Finney. Always superb, always sexy, and always worth watching. In some of my favorite of his performances (there are at least a dozen more), here he is with the cream of the crop of leading ladies (and one gentleman, with whom he played house in two films)

Skip over Among the Shadows, head straight for What We Do in the Shadows. Be werewolves, not swearwolves.

I would like to add that any shower for a baby that is 10+ years after the last (SURPRISE!), or a shower for a girl baby after 8 boys is totally fine (or the opposite), but other than that, nope.

I sincerely wish I was wrong.

Social media has created acult of the amateur” (quoting the book of the same name which got panned in the Tech industry because a lot of “amateurs” didn’t like it. An amateur in this context is a person with no actual experience, degree, internship, and so on garnering tons of attention on social media. People

I’m sorry, what? Like, yes, white women not shaving their pits in January is not the most courageous thing in the world. Of course, women who are not white/cis/straight/able-bodied/educated/wealthy have it easier than those who are not.

Yeah, but even then, white women are being compared with other white women for conforming to the white women standard. Imagine what it’s like for women who can’t even clear the bar because they’re not the right color? The point could have been made with more nuanced for sure, thought.

There are valid points in this piece but this idea that all white women have the same amount of body hair or are not shamed for it or have no social repercussions for it is just plain not true. Maybe it would have been a better idea to write about cultural differences and experiences with body hair instead of making

Like, ugh the human body is so fucking gross omg.

No one suggested that she was being extraordinarily brave, so why do we have to shit on everything? We can’t just take this for what it is without lambasting it for not doing enough for the brown community? They really do not HAVE to do anything with one other.

He has power, his daughter doesn't. They're small people who want to look woke without actually exposing themselves to repercussions

Well it’s nice to see them speaking out now but the flood gates have opened. There’s no downside to jumping on the anti-Kelly bandwagon now and they don’t have to worry about him refusing to write hit songs for them. It would have been nice if people spoke out at the height of his fame. Hopefully people will be this
