My suggestion for people who talk about wanting to learn a stick is to tell them to make sure they learn how to drive an automatic first.

That’s where the issue comes in though. Many cars rated at 30mpg will never achieve 30mpg in real world driving, while some rated at 30mpg will easily get 35mpg in real world driving, so there really isn’t a good comparison for the numbers either.
