I don’t want to delve into the question of whether a confessed sex pest should get to win any awards ever again, but I can say that I still think he’s gross, and that if I were in a position to vote for him to win an award I don’t think I could bring myself to do it, and that I can see how if I were one of the women

There are really few things more pathetic than Change.org petitions whinging about show finales.

Yet another problem that could’ve been solved by simply ending with the finale of the excellent first season.  This show was SO GOOD but was SO NOT DESIGNED TO GO FOR MULTIPLE SEASONS

I think it’s more the chain of events. It’s not the fact that Villanelle died. It’s the fact that they make a point of getting the two of them together then kill her. Tara and Willow make up so Tara can get shot. Clarke and Lexa get together and Lexa is immediately killed. And while I personally think this one was

I agree that ‘bury your gays’ shouldn’t be an excuse to avoid giving gay characters life and death stakes, and that sometimes people complain when it’s not really merited... but at the same time, the specific subtrope of “maintain a will-they-won’t-they for ages to bring in lesbian viewers, allow the couple to finally

You should send her a list of places she’s allowed to talk and the topics she can cover

I mean, she was a co-host. It makes sense that she'd be asked about it. It rubbed me the wrong way too but because she led it with shameless self-promotion

eh, that’s a little harsh. She was a host of the oscars and a fellow stand up comedian. I think she has a dog in this.

I’m not defending Smith. He was clearly in the wrong for hitting Rock over a joke. Chris Rock also shouldn’t have made that joke. They’re both assholes here. I would be fine with Smith being banned from the Oscars from now on.

I never said he got a pass for engaging in violence. I’m merely pointing out that the joke was in poor taste. It’s not the first time Chris Rock has punched down.

Sure, but arguably as embarrassing.

He has a long history of tearing down women in his stand-up too, going as far as to excuse his outrageousness because he has to pay alimony.

Hear is where I point out that Will was laughing his ass off at that joke until Jada yanked his leash and sent him up there.

Hi, actually Jada shared a very vulnerable video on social media last summer sharing with the world that she has alopecia. It was also covered on mainstream entertainment media...so it is pretty common knowledge, certainly in Hollywood circles. This was a very personal thing that she decided to share to get out ahead

The pro wrestling fan in me can’t help to immediately starting thinking its a work (FYI: “work” is wrasslin terms is same thing as “staged”). Whether it is or not, I don’t know.

I never say 0 %, but there’s a “limit approaching zero” chance Rock knew Jada had a disease causing her baldness. He was making some easy jokes that he probably wrote right before the ceremony.

My take fwiw (not a lot): he initially started the same awkward chuckle actors always do when the host takes the piss out of them. Tried to laugh it off. But Jada was not and will lost it, in part because it was his wife and she was clearly hurt

Not going to happen unless Rock presses charges, which he won’t because he’s not a baby.

Love makes you do crazy things is the opening defense for every fucking wife beater during a restraining order hearing. #teamchris

1) Don’t hit people. 2) If you’re going to make a joke on a world stage about anyone, then check with them before making said joke.
