My memory is a bit fuzzy, but if I recall the way they treat Chandler’s dad is that Chandler is the one with the problem. He’s the one that needs to change his position. Chandler’s dad lives a pretty full and good life and there’s really nothing wrong with it.

Fired Up is not good, but it’s much better than it needs to be

I can’t help but also wonder if they’re including a character from a movie no one’s seen yet on the list as part of an ongoing marketing campaign instead of as a genuine attempt to gain definitive answers.

“the town also recently renamed “an unmarked dirt roadway” near the ball “Weird Alley,” which is just delightful”

Someone worked hard to make that happen and I’m proud of them.

I recognize that man as Joey Tortellini, the Sudanese pediatrician/DJ/200+ time super jackpot lotto winner.

All advertising is pandering. They don’t care about you, your life, your hardships, or your successes. They only care about getting your money.

Lots or non-nerdy people were into Star Wars. But the nerds were the ones really into Star Wars. A hallmark of nerd culture is diving in obsessively to a particular fandom. “Normal” people watched the movies and maybe had the action figures when they were a kid, but they didn’t read the EU books or buy every single

No, Gillermo del Toro is the name of the monster from The Shape of Water.

It isn’t true in a vacuum. Eating a dozen apples is not healthy. But it has been shown time and again that people who eat foods with higher nutritional densities and lower caloric densities (like fruit over cookies) will consume fewer calories. Nobody would eat a dozen apples, but they might eat a dozen Oreos. I know

Pot made you not hungry? The heck

I don’t know how anyone can watch this and think of Tom’s actions as good. I see it a lot more like a coming of age tale where he learns his lesson. The “Autumn” joke at the end is a perfect metaphor for the movie itself: He’s learned how to grow up, and he’s most likely going to make better decisions this time

Be that by wearing headphones so you can rudely ignore someone’s request for the time or directions, or this false pompousness of trying to prove you’re better and more important than anyone else you encounter.

I’m always mystified by the ideas that 1) Stay Positive isn’t a pantheon THS record (it’s better than Boys and Girls), and 2) Heaven is Whenever is a letdown. HIW has a couple missteps but it closes with 3 straight massive tracks and is infinitely better than Teeth Dreams.

His singing on the later albums is a lot more melodic than the early stuff—though if you can’t stand it on the early stuff, I doubt you’d be won over by the later albums. Say that I agree with you and think that’s just talking, even though I don’t, and find plenty of musicality in his voice even when it’s on the

Craig Finn’s lyrics (which are, like, 60 percent of why the Hold Steady is so great) would sound really weird delivered by a traditional melodic singing voice. I don’t think it would work.

Singing is not particularly a value I associate with rock and roll.

Hard to blame New York when the band itself plays Brooklyn on every tour, has special events/anniversaries exclusively in Brooklyn, and refers to themselves as a Brooklyn band.

I always thought Nicolay’s keys were what made The Hold Steady fully cohesive. Teeth Dreams was enjoyable but lacked that certain oomph. But after hearing all the stuff they’ve been putting out with him back in the mix, it certainly feels like they’re back back musically. Very happy they didn’t go full-in and have all

Actually Dean and Jess end up together and run an inn in Vermont. over Logan with a steamroller.

Towards the end, I liked everyone BUT Lorelai and Rory.
