The live action absolutely could not nail down the correct tone to be a good Bebop successor... but wow, this really is a dead ringer for a Seinfeld scene.

I read the original webcomic this is based on back in the Keenspot days! I decided to check up on it in 2019 and was astonished to read somebody had bought the film rights. It was a fun little comic and I’m glad the author (hopefully) got the bag for this.

I never read the proper Rogue Squadron books, but I think that the book where Corran Horn became a Jedi was one of the funniest editions to the EU ever.

I don’t really want a spinoff, mind you; I’m on the record as disliking the trend of mining every ounce of goodwill out of the bright spots in a piece of media. That being said, maybe 3-4 extra minutes of screentime wouldn’t have hurt.

I could not believe De Armas wasn’t in more of this, and I’m glad you wrote an article that basically summarizes my feelings. I don’t so much mind a little more serialization in bond movies, but this movie has too much Spectre carryover and it really feels like a breath of fresh air to have a bright new character come

Are you watching a whole lot of incel youtubers? I would say a VAST majority of people who went and saw Venom not only didn’t see it because incel Youtubers told them to, but in fact have no idea who any of those names you mentioned are, or the idea that a segment of youtube like that exists. I consider myself rather

It’s like they HEARD me wildly speculating that Page was the frontrunner for the Bond casting search. This announcement is an attempt to discredit me!

I really enjoy Katie’s reviews and think that AV Club as a whole has done a really good job covering Flanagan’s recent TV stuff so I’m very appreciate of this review and I’m very excited to watch the show.

This is an actual rave review. I’m so glad that every time I’ve heard something new about this movie, it’s been positive.

One other thing that I think makes this movie stand out is that even though Warner is the bad romantic pairing and is clearly closer to a villain than most of the other characters Elle’s age, he still doesn’t make the worst possible decision at every possible time.

Sounds dope. I ordered this on the strength of the 2nd preview illustration alone, but I’m also an avowed footnote lover and it sounds like it’s a really good introduction to the style and material.

Watching The Time Traveller’s Wife convinced me that Eric Bana’s Acting Zone is “confused, but unsuccessfully trying to hide it”, so I can see how “noir detective harboring dark secret” could fall into his bailiwick.

I was on board with this before I knew one of my favorite CollegeHumor alums was directing! Plus, I can never get enough Michaela Watkins. This is going on my watchlist for Halloween this year.

It’s good to see somebody else acknowledge the significant of sustainably harvested Hot Cheeto dust. I tried to crush hot Cheetos as part of a topping for an appetizer once, and the consistency was way off.

This is it - the only good comment I have ever read!

I am incredibly hyped for this. Loved the Arthurian mythos as a kid and I think this is doing a great job of capturing some of the dream logic that goes into chivalry while still keeping it grounded in Gawain’s motivations.

Finally, I can be the guy complaining about the AV Club spoiling a show I’m basically not following at all! Never mind that I don’t even know when this episode released and I gave up after episode 3; I perceive this as a personal slight.

The divey parts, sure! That was the only reason I was there. I don’t know that I ever heard anybody luxuriating about the hand-scoring while smoking out front.

The real horror story here is that Bryant Lake Bowl is still hand-scored bowling only. Imagine being at a divey bowling alley and trying to do math on paper between beers and tiny whizzing helicopters.

I honestly got it into my head that this was the Ryan Reynolds “I’m stuck in a video game” movie Free Guy so I was disappointed to see the pan (and that Gibson was involved), but I guess I’m safe for now! The C- review for that film will have to wait a few months.
