His podcast, Lavar Burton Reads, is really good. He reads short fiction, mostly sci-fi, and sometimes has interviews with the authors. Check it out!

This movie is of course full of glorious swearing, but this is my favorite, and has become a family joke.

I get the impression that the whole anti-wokeness movement is pushing things in the opposite direction, making more people believe thinngs like benign staffing decisions must be some cultural affront.

I also just use it to be angry at things— mostly debugging fucking software as my employment entails, but also fucking frustrating video games. At this point in my vocabulary “fucking” just is mostly a non-vulgar empathizer like “super,” “very,” etc. The actual insult is whatever I append it too.

Fuck seems so ubiquitous in film, and in general, that it barely registers as an insult anymore, which is how I remember hearing it first it as a kid. Look, we’re getting bogged down in details here. The point is, Ellen likes to maim people for fun and profit.

You’re not a proper AV Club member until you’ve clicked on that confirmation email and also told recognitions to get fucked. Now that you’ve accomplished both of those, here’s your official welcome gift basket:

The answer is: this guy is obviously the best choice to host Jeopardy!

... he agreed to get pancreatic cancer in 37 years.

If he gets the job Ken Jennings is gonna go full alt-right. You can TASTE it.

It’s funny that you’re saying this to recognitions, who basically argues that anyone who has anything negative to say about any woman and/or not-white person is racist and/or sexist.

Gotta’ get Patrick Stewart to record a Tiktok video supporting Burton as host saying, “Make it so, Sony!” in his best Jean Luc Picard voice.

Well maybe he could host Family Feud. Or Let’s Make a Deal. Or Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

it would be if he weren’t right

How can Burton share the petition? He’s been missing presumed dead along with some college student for more than half a decade now.

He’d probably do a fine job, but “I don’t believe there is anyone out there who is better suited for this job than me” is an awfully bold statement to make.

Hey there; just wanna say fuck you. Okay, thanks.

This makes a lot of sense and they should do it. It would give the show a boost, too. If they hand it off to the game show equivalent of Ryan Seacrest it would be a bummer.
