My dad has driven for them for 31 years and I’d never heard this before. Do you have a photo of these big trucks you speak of?

Or go to a dirt track on a Saturday night (there’s one near you, I promise!). Street Stocks and Pure Stocks/Bombers are direct decedents of old school NASCAR.

The company I work for is starting to roll out this technology (or something similar) in some of their plants. It will recognize when a person, then recognize safety gear they’re wearing (safety glasses, hard hat, etc). It only logs the data points you tell it to and I’m not sure it’s sophisticated enough to do full

and if you forget to drop the tailgate before you back under a gooseneck trailer it costs more now.

Seems like an Aerostitch Roadcrafter could solve your “what gear to wear over nice things” dilemma.

Coming from the guy who owns Eldora, which has acres of room in the corners, this would be about as different as you can get.

Luckily, Sprint Cars are pretty tough. F+R wing, front suspension, some new wheels, and this car is probably ready to go again. However, I’m sure Tony brought more than one car with him. If you’re going to do something like this and have Tony Stewart money why wouldn’t you? He probably also has several shops/teams

Great point. Even if they say “oh it has these rad cameras that you can see in the cab” NHTSA won’t buy it and make them put regular mirrors on it.

Imagine if it’s pulling a tanker trailer. All of that liquid is going to shift over the rear axles under acceleration. Once you get up to speed, it’s all going to come rushing back to the middle and the front. At best I would assume it would uncomfortable in the cab. At worst it would break stuff or cause a loss of

Box trucks don’t look nearly as cool as a semi. A Tesla box truck just isn’t a very sexy thing to unveil and put lots of PR behind.

Not to mention that new KW will run 800,000-1,200,000 miles before a rebuild. Then, after a rebuild, will do it again.

Correct. Standard payment for an Owner/Operator is per mile. Makes the calculations easier to figure out how much profit can be made. Most drivers know their cost per mile (mpg, maintenance, etc) so they can quickly look at a offer and determine how much profit they stand to make.

They’re slow up the hill because the big companies by 300hp trucks because of the cost savings. For trucks doing lots of mountain runs, 400+ would obviously be better. The Tesla will still slow down up the hill as well, or burn 50 miles of range trying to keep it at the set speed.

I don’t believe in tiny houses. If you’re gonna do something like this might as well be able to move it and have an RV.

I think it’s a shame they don’t race at Homestead more than once a year. What a fantastic track. In the last 25 laps every time they showed Kyle Larson it looked like he was in the wall. He was 6 inches off it the whole last run.

I didn’t/don’t have access to lap times, but it seemed like once those three got bunched up all their speed went away. Truex did a good job of taking lines away from the others and it seemed he was conservative early in the run so he had some speed in reserve when he needed. Again, don’t know for sure, but

Cole Pearn is the crew chief, not the spotter. The spotter for that team is Clayton Hughes IIRC

This needs way more stars

I saw an article last week that said if Danica wanted to keep racing she should head to the NHRA. I’d love to see her in a Pro Stock car

Too bad Alexis hung it up, but she’s taken some hard shots the past few years. Better to quit on your own terms.
