Please elaborate. The new Road Glide with a Milwaukee 8 is a direct competitor to this. Similar power, similar weight, similar storage volume, similar performance. Pricing isn’t that different either.

I mean, DCT has been around for quite awhile now. How will this change things more than when they put it on the NC700 or Africa Twin?

It went on a huge diet. If wind protection and comfort don’t suffer, that’s a good thing. The less area being presented to the wind, the more efficient it is.

You are correct sir.

My VTX is a 1.8 liter..... And it’s a V-Twin.

This one. This is the worst.

The entire infield portion is going to be single file follow the leader. The only passing opportunities are going to be on the backstretch chicane.

Predictions:

but I want to see drivers out braking someone in front of them and watch them execute a neat overtake mid corner

Were they bad before? The days of stock car drivers not being good on road courses went away in the 90s. The top drivers are just as good on road courses as they are on ovals.

This is why I enjoy superspeedway racing and hope it stays around. The draft gives a team that would normally run 20th a chance to win if they run a smart race.

Who is this “they” that you speak of? NASCAR? Doubtful. Could it be just always qualifies well on restrictor plate tracks, like his teammates?

Now playing

2002 Aaron’s 312 (Xfinity race). 30 cars involved in a wreck on lap 15. 3 cars finished on the lead lap.

He’s wadded that car up 2 or 3 times at this event over the years. It’s been on its roof more than once. This guy is known for staying in the throttle waaaaay too long and letting it all hang out at this event.

You’re absolutely right. However, Byron prohibits that for this event. This is for real-deal drag cars, not purpose built wheelstanders (although most of these guys had this event in mind when they built their cars). All cars are front-engined normal drag cars.

Why is he letting a $600,000 historical artifact sit on a street, out in the open, where it can be damaged, looted, or degraded by the elements? For such a piece of history that was bought at such a high price point, you’d think he’d take better care of it, or lease it to a museum.

Except for still being a team owner (Xfinity) and heading to NBC Sports next year. He’s got plenty of reasons to stay quiet and go with the flow, which makes this all the more impressive.

If you like that type of stuff, this is a great read:

In the regular season? Not that bad. It’s equivalent to him finishing last in that race.

You know what I think would help NASCAR tremendously??? Get the races on the network flagship. I would have watched so many more races this year had they not been on FS1 or NBCSN. Having your “playoffs” on a cable channels does nothing for your legitimacy.
