From the trailer, I assumed that was the only reason this movie exists and the only reason audiences are supposed to see it. Come watch your favorite actors hang out in Hawaii. The review mentions a script several times which surpised me and seems superfluous

NFL teams do hold a gigantic advantage over players when it comes to contracts

I can’t believe Kurt Loder is seventy.

The team can still agree to do it if they want to... But I thought Rex Ryan already said he didn’t want to do it because it would be too much of a distraction.

They are. If they do it, it’ll be because they want to do it—which would be the best outcome all around.

That’s exactly what he should have said. Something along the lines of, “We’re choosing not to pursue this case as it’s two grown-ass men and a home run ball,” and not, “Home run balls = The Purge.” It was just an idiotic comment from the officer.

I am not a lawyer, but you may have a point. I’m pretty sure the guy is technically guilty of trespassing, but so is a kid that goes into a yard to pick up a ball he hit there. But yeah, not sure if a ball with no owner landing on his property makes the ball his, so for all I know he has no legal claim of ownership.

I mean, you’re not wrong technically, but I reality is sometimes law enforcement just has to say, “I’m not going to enforce the law in this case.” Why not? “Because there’s no real harm here and I’m paid to keep general order in society, not be your personal guardian against every subtly illicit inconvenience thrown

A better analogy would be if a ball landed in a convertible with the top down.

I hope the guy who owns a boat finally catches a lucky break here.

Or you could just, you know, refresh your Twitter feed on your phone before going to the bathroom.

I grabbed these the last time they popped up on Kinja Deals and they’re actually quite great. Worth looking into if you’re in the market!

They tried that! He nearly came to blows with Loria over Loria heckling an umpire during the game. He won Manager of the Year and got fired anyway.

“since I can’t imagine who in the general public is clamoring for more discussion about these two television dinosaurs”

I look forward to listening to the Right Reasons more than any other podcast. It’s just 45 minutes of fun time.

When I had much longer commutes (~50 minutes door to door from far uptown to the city) I’d listen to podcasts on my way to and from work; same in college, when it was something like 80 minutes to get into Manhattan from Queens, and while I was doing braindead data entry jobs. Before things like Instapaper and Pocket

Well, there goes my whole “Simmons to Deadspin” wish.

40% of Republicans support gay marriage, and it’s going to be legal nationwide in a month and a complete non-issue in a year or two. People whose political philosophy is basically “I don’t want to pay taxes or help poor people, but I don’t care about weed or gays” are not Democratic voters.

If it happened at a home game there’s unlikely to be any witnesses.

SVP, Rece Davis, Fowler are actual normal people.
