So true. This is why I’m over all the posts saying “German cars are reliable as long as you keep up with routine maintenance...”. Well, yeah ok, I can believe that. But most folks don’t consider “routine maintenance” to be “rebuild entire car every 30,000 miles”.

I would encourage everyone reading this to take Racecar’s advice. I made all those same mistakes in my 20's, going into debt to purchase vehicles I couldn’t actually afford, always having a monthly payment, and again, never getting ahead financially.
