Let’s the honest with ourselves. The real reason is the platform would have made the cars too expensive and FCA would have had to significantly raise their prices or lose a lot of money. This reason is more PR/enthusiast friendly though.

It’s not as efficient and will not put as consumer friendly MPG results under EPA testing. It’s the exact same engine and turbo working harder and running hotter. If there was no downside to the tune Ford would have it standard so they could market all the power without any fuel efficient loss compared to competitors.

Of course MPG would be affected (worse). There is a reason why this is an optional tune and not standard.
