You think you can record an entire main character’s audio lines in a week?

1: 8-9 figures is the budget of the title. It’s a AAA title, after all, even for Nintendo that’s going to be at least in the mid 8-figures.

“We held auditions to cast the new voice of Bayonetta and offered the role to Jennifer Hale, whom we felt was a good match for the character,”

I bought Bayonetta 2 on launch and quickly became one of the most fun games I had played.

So basically you're asking us to ignore this woman's problem with people basically taking food off her table... Despite nobody saying that she did anything wrong or giving a reasonable explanation why they went another way despite her being established in the role? Dude, fuck off.

To be silent is to be complicit in her own undervaluing. Will some jags label her difficult? Yep, and she won’t work with those difficult jags saving herself future headaches. There will also be people who admire her taking a stand and demanding to be paid what she is worth and will want to work with somebody with

I think its safe to say that the pay for the most important character in a game with an 8-9 figure budget should probably be more than a single entry-level QA tester will make working on the game for 2-3 months.

I don’t know what the average pay for a job like this is in the industry, but I know I make more money that this job was apparently set to pay in a month, and I bet the role takes a lot longer than that to finish for a VA. If this is a par offer, it’s absolutely unreal.

Props to the guy for commiting to this just to prove a redditor wrong, lol.

Every fanbase has bots

Oh no, Snyder forced a giant corporation to fund his cut of Justice League. /s

WB loves calling Ray Fisher a liar and a puppet of Snyder huh.

Hulu is owned by Disney, one of the richest companies in the world. They are reviving futurama because they think it will make them money. They can afford to pay the actors more.

Siding with Disney is like siding with the Devil. Disney is notorious for underpaying and exploiting all talent. The reason? People like you side with them whenever the rare challenge arrives. Which is why there isn’t a united front. As a voice actor, you’re risking being blackballed in the entire industry by pissing

Because Bender is intrinsically tied to Futurama's popularity, DiMaggio is in a rare spot of leverage for a voice actor here. That's a good thing.

“If 20th Animation and Hulu don’t decide to pay DiMaggio now, they’re still going to pay for it later, because some fans will find a new Bender too jarring to enjoy the show, and other fans won’t bother checking out a DiMaggio-less Futurama at all.”

I mean, I dunno who would even watch Futurama without the real Bender so I do find fault with Hulu for them announcing this without getting him onboard, as it’s a fairly naked attempt to apply public pressure. That’s pretty lame. If they don’t want to use him they should have announced after a final decision on that.

Calling it now: Chris Pratt will be cast as Bender.

While I’m sure this will increase his salary as well this is a rising tide raises all boats scenario and I cant really argue against someone who says “me AND my colleagues all deserve better pay”. I know I wont be watching this if it doesn’t have Bender so Disney should frankly just cough up the money.
