They also had decades of material to work with. They had practiced attacking the Clintons - both of them - for decades and knew all the buttons to push. And, just being frank here, there was a lot they had to work with that was at least somewhat true - the email server, the Goldman Sachs speeches, the inconsistent

I don’t know if Obama owes us anything, but he definitely owes the families he tore apart by droning half of them to death.

She’s already pushing the party left and getting them on board with the Green New Deal, and that’s before she even takes office. And the right wing media is getting themselves tied up in knots in their obsessive attempts to bring her down, which have only boosted her more. You don’t have to like her personally, but

If he’s an A+ NRA shill, that will come as quite as quite a surprise to the actual NRA, which gave him a D-.

Yeah, that’s what I was alluding to as far as sexual misconduct goes (but I also felt like his Nazi-adjacent rhetoric deserved some mention). Honestly, I really looked askance at Michael Schur after he said he’d work with Ansari again, not just because of lingering questions there but because he wouldn’t even address

Yeah, it was especially bad. S6 from what I remember at least had its good points, but 7 had that whole thing with Tom pursuing that girl from like three season prior...holy shit that was bad.

When there is an increased number of accusations against someone, it at the very least should logically fuel some increase in the belief that the accused person may be guilty.

The last couple seasons were dreadful, Ansari isn’t the only questionable figure on the show with sexual misconduct in his history (looking at you, Rob “keep the immigrants away” Lowe), and the overly sunny politics on this show have already not aged well at all. I think the finale was one of the worst I’ve ever seen.

He has more influence on budget overall. Sure I’d like him to take energy too if that were possible but it isn’t. Curious that no one says this about Wyden or Stabenow.

I agree. It sucks to say it but honestly it would be better if he had lost his Senate seat. The GOP would have the Senate in either situation and Manchin is basically a Republican in all but name anyway. The party should have ditched him on principle after the Kavanaugh vote.

It was a work party at the Museum. The only real reason someone attends something like that, particularly if they are not an employee there but in the broader industry, is professional networking. Yes, it’s not a “work” meeting but it’s still a context where certain professional niceties should be followed. Like not

Nah in a progressional setting it is harassment, especially the way it happened. At the very least it demonstrates that he didn’t really view her as a professional equal or peer, despite the setting. And her own response to it suggests that she found it at minimum uncomfortable.

In isolation I might agree that it wasn’t a necessarily a huge deal but we do have to consider it in context with the others. It creates a broader picture of his behavior and is corroborative. I would also say that it did sound excessive and not just like failed flirting and that it was in a professional setting where

Well, that’s definitely true whenever there are multiple accusers and the evidence fairly obviously points to guilt, yes.

I mostly comment now because they were so fierce in protecting him (and liked in some cases hundreds of times, much more than comments that believed the victims). I liked NDT but the sheer ferocity of people coming out to defend him is, somehow, still surprising to me. I hope some of those people are at least shifting

All the comments here the other day doubting his accusers are sure aging well.

I think the first point is made better in the succinct way she did. And she probably didn’t have the time to make a wordier, more serious appeal like that. I’m sure Louis of all people can appreciate the power of a joke in making a point.

Much as I hate Trump, this type of criticism is always a bit baffling to me. George H.W. Bush was a monster in his own right. There’s a lot of reasons I could name, but I’ll just say to go back and watch that Willie Horton ad if you have any doubts about whether he was a decent person. And while I’m sure Trump isn’t

Yeah as an awkward awkward dude...I still found a partner on OKCupid. It wasn’t easy but it wasn’t impossible. And Neil Degrasse Tyson is a connected celebrity. Some of these comments are acting like he’s a 14-year-old boy still learning how to interact with women. He’s a grown-ass man.

If it’s his very young subordinate (or any subordinate), he shouldn’t try. Seriously. And I’m not saying he shouldn’t get to try to fuck at all. He can even pursue (of age) younger women if he wants to. I’m sure as a connected celebrity, he has many opportunities to do that, well beyond you or I. But a subordinate who
