Er... OK...?

Because I'm English and those are the terms we use here. Also stewards are not the same as the police.

I know it's not a major issue in reality, it's just really surprising so see no one moving towards the guy.

I'm not American, I'm English. I watch football/soccer/whatever every week it's on and even in the lower tiers of competition you normally see stewards immediately trying to remove a pitch invader. This is the second time in the World Cup with no reaction, which is ridiculous at this level.

Where the fuck are the stewards in Brazil? Why is no one getting this guy off the pitch?!

Joey Barton makes absolutely no sense. He frequently comes across as relatively intelligent and forward thinking, as well as doing a lot of work for charity. On the other hand he's clearly a complete scumbag, and really shouldn't be playing football any more. Keeping a place on a team, any team, after admitting (and

FIFA have clarified that he can still be transferred.

FIFA have clarified, he can be transferred.

Sometimes you have extra assistant referees (which is the technical term) to judge things like goals and fouls in the box, and they stand on the goal line.

Now playing

There are some great Zlatan goals, but we all know his ridiculous overhead kick vs England is the best.

Can't happen with Ghana as the US beat them and head to head record counts. If Portugal score 2 goals without conceding and the US lose by 3 without scoring then the US and Portugal have identical records I think and that would go to lots.

Absolutely. Personally I think Drogba might be a little too old to be a side's star striker, but you've got to respect a man who literally stopped a civil war.

It may be just me, but I want Group F to go to drawing of lots desperately. It'd be simply amazing and hilariously stupid at the same time.

Firstly I don't think he flops, I think the clip causes him to stub his toe and lose his balance.

As well as what others have said, analysing good defensive players is tougher than forwards, or even midfielders. It's not as simple as looking at a striker where you're looking at how many goals they scored or if they were in a position to score if they'd received, or with midfielders where you can look at pass

Oh it's not easy for sure, but Ghana came exceptionally close. Plus if you're lucky they'll rest a couple of players, which is not gonna happen from here after the group.

I really do not understand why people in the US want a draw. Yes, sure, it sees you progressing, but winning see you progress and, probably, avoids Belgium. While Belgium haven't quite lived up to the hype yet, they've still looked pretty good and they have some worryingly talented players.

The reason they shouldn't play to a draw is that the winner of the group gets the second place team in Group H in the next round, theoretically the weaker team. If the goal is to get as far as possible, rather than just getting out of the group, then winning the group is clearly advantageous.

What a game, what effort from both players. Ghana had a few technical issues at points, particularly in their late 3 v 2 break (that ended up 5 v 3), but they were still fantastic in general. Brilliant defending late on too.
