Honestly, if I had an injury that could reasonably lead to some amnesia, I’ll consider using it as an opportunity to at least act like I no longer know certain people, even if I still did.

The notion that we’re looking to the White House is silly, frankly, there’s not much any American administration can do to control events in that part of the world. But going back decades, this pretty much sums up all of our efforts to do so. Even short-term “wins” have lead to more problems later. The

Waffles on average are better because most places make shitty pancakes. But you can’t beat really fantastic pancakes.

This is a great show - we’ve been watching it from the first episode. I was sold on it after watching the “first look” trailer from last May. It had enough of the slightly odd situations and the musical numbers to convince me that the show was a lot more than it’s title let on.

I read it the same way. It has a nearly identical word shape. Also, Ben Carson would be totally OK with being interviewed a best friend that only he could see.

Actually, I’d base it on who performed that surgical procedure the most often, assuming they’re maintaining a decent success rate.

You want a surgeon who does a procedure a LOT. It’s like a trade - the more often they do it, generally the better the outcomes. As long as the vast majority of their patients aren’t

You know, as nutty Overstock can be, they weren’t wrong about the naked short selling practices of the big investment firms.

Cruz didn’t respond to the question about the debt ceiling either, but complained instead.

The questions weren’t great, but Ted Cruz was asked about his past opposition to raising the debt limit and the current debate over that very point in Congress, and attacked the moderator for not asking “substantive questions”.

He never answered the questions. And pretty much every candidate had a moment like that.

Little gun-shaped candies would have been fine, though.

I keep hoping it happens in a nebulous time “after” all the new changes get thrown away because most of it sucks.

I’m with him on the metric issue. Maybe they should ask everyone who is pro-metric to donate $10, $100 or $1,000 dollars.

Pretty much every time I hear about some 19th or early 20th century imperial adventure I hadn’t heard of before, it’s as bad or worse than anything I’d previously heard about.

It’s a parade of nightmares. The modern world is built on a foundation of mutilated corpses, accompanied by the sounds of atrocity after

Except that they don’t. The Supremacy Clause states that ultimatly State courts must follow all federal laws when there’s a conflict between the federal law and a state constitution or state law, as long as the federal law is constitutional to begin with. Even treaties trump state laws.

We’ve got some SC opinions

Feces? That may be the best-smelling Subway sandwich shop in the nation.

I’d recommend reading this.

This coming from a movement that - in some states - love to back laws requiring doctors to disclose bullshit risks of abortion that aren’t backed by data. Seems like requiring them to disclose that they don’t have certain kinds of medical personnel is much less of an imposition.

It’s a good thing they diverted cash from school construction bonds to buy that first batch of ipads. It’s really important to borrow money you’re going to pay back over 20 years for technology that needs to be replaced every few.

Ugh, people who were overly suggestable in the 70’s and got into the whole psychic / ESP / whatever thing and never let it go are just annoying as fuck.

He probably spent weeks convincing himself that his pocketknife was sharper because he was placing it under a tiny pyramid every night. That shit really took off in
