I think it’s interesting to watch a metaphorical infant taking its first steps, and then trash said infant for not being able to run a 40-yard-dash in record time. That, to me, is what this article does.

Serious question: does the Black Lives Matter movement have a set position on whether they want white people at their protests or not? I’ve read several high profile articles both ways. I’ll admit to staying away, in part because I’ve read several impassioned pieces saying that I shouldn’t go.
For many it is and was the first step. I see a lot of people shitting on those new to activism. Frankly you can choose to be pissed that these people didn’t have your back before, or choose to use this opportunity to turn these people. You had a bunch of people try activism for the first time and it felt good. They’re…
I work for an advocacy organization. We all went to the march, with our friends and our families.
I’m a black woman who was at the DC March, and I was absolutely one of those people bragging about no arrests. The DC crowd was plenty diverse, thanks. It’s a miracle to get a crowd of THAT size in the streets and have zero arrests, no matter what kind of event it was.
I especially loooooove all these Republicans who all of a sudden are sooooooo concerned about women’s rights in the Middle East, Africa and other places. Fuck off with your talking point, you didn’t give a shit about it until you heard someone else say that, and you don’t give a shit about it now.
I quit Facebook following the election and it has been wonderful. I don’t miss that toxic shit at all. I encourage others to do the same, especially considering FB had a hand in the whole sharing of bogus news. Fuck Facebook.
Exactly.
LA’s march was super diverse, so I don’t know exactly who the critiques are for. Maybe there were more white women in other cities? All I know is I had a fucking blast, and it seemed like every person at the march also had a blast.
I marched in Seattle, and I don’t give a big fat fuck what anyone is saying about it or asking me what will it cause. You know what it caused, happiness. It was lovely to be out with people of all ages, races, genders, reasons for being there, etc. It showed me that none of us are alone nor are we single issue people.…
I don’t why I read Yahoo comments but why are white, conservative men so angry? Somehow, their lying eyes only so fat, ugly white women marching for “absolutely no reason.” Those libtards should get off welfare and get a job, then they wouldn’t have time to march. I don’t understand their logic. I thought they needed…
There were a few times at the DC March when people started chanting Black Lives Matter and everyone joined in with the same enthusiasm as all the other chants. It was awesome!
I’m of two minds on this. On one hand, yes, where was this level of visible outrage around black lives matter and standing rock? On the other hand, does the very nature of being a woman automatically include you in the outrage of ALL disenfranchised peoples? Is one only given “cred” when they express outrage and…
I’m so sick of this response. Did you read any of the signs? Check out the March website or social media? Ask anyone? If you got a multitude of answers, that’s simply because there are a multitude of issues.
THANK YOU. I always say it but no fucking god-damn way am I going to sit here and be tolerant of people’s intolerance. And people that advocate that are either trolls, naive or don’t understand the concept of the false equivalence in comparing defending tolerance with defending intolerance. ESPECIALLY the Nazi brand…
I’m over the idea that non-violence is the only path. I’m over the “Love Trumps Hate” and (as much as I love Michelle Obama) “When they go low, we go high”. It is not our job to roll over, compromise, always be nice, always be peaceful, always take what others have determined to be the high road. The intimidation…
Can we just call it what it is? Propaganda. Aimed at deluding or frustrating an already divided public.

You will love this lady in Birmingham, then. Not the best picture, but it was CROWDED y’all. ;-)
Well it’s good that his intense desire to be president occasionally leads him to do something decent.
