God there's such a huge disconnect between what the majority of modern gamers want and what the heads of these studios want. Cool, this all sounds absolutely awful. I am too old and have too much going on to play any game that takes “100+” hours to “get going”. All that tells me is that you have an absolutely unfathomable amount of uninteresting content bloat.

I know it’s a boilerplate response from them, but the “we’ll do more with fewer people, more easily” response isn’t quite a good look.

Because they want to be able to iterate quickly, unlock more creativity, and form a clear vision of what they’re building before development ramps up. I wonder how many middle managers and executives got laid off for being impediments to those goals.

It’s fucking sad that in the futuristic year of 2023, it’s still headline-worthy for a woman to say she doesn’t want kids.
