I didn’t feel like I had to specify “legally”. It is true that piracy is the one thing we can rely on for preserving games in cases like this.

I think it’s safe to say pirating an unavailable digital game is the only option really left...but I get your point! Used games aren’t doing the devs or the consumers any favors either. The only reason to buy a used physical game is for collecting or when emulation is spotty/unavailable.

I’m not sure why people keep trying to compare the discontinuation of digital games to physical games as though they are the same. Physical games can be resold. You can still buy games from 40 years ago. You cannot buy or obtain a discontinued all-digital game (ie. Turtles in Time ReShelled).

This is no different than a game being pulled off of store shelves.

1. I don’t think this really qualifies as censorship. The same pose remains for Widowmaker. The problem here isn’t that it’s too much butt for people to handle. I finally got around to playing through Mother 1-3 within the last couple years and I thought they definitely lived up to their reputations. It’s too bad Earthbound didn’t do well in NA, the general audience at that time definitely missed out on a good game.
