where does the Jez article state that an allegation was made against him? What was the source?

I think your last paragraph is spot on.
My quibble on the first paragraph is that the timeline at present doesn’t line up. The time frame of the reported expulsion predates his actual recorded explusion. Now, there could have been an administrative screw up or there could have been another sexual assault expulsion

come on now, just poking a little fun. Besides, how many of those football national championships are prior to most other leagues existing? They have storied histories but are not current powerhouses in football and have not been for decades. but really, the joke is beside the main point, which I appreciate you

so no need to be responsible, just report as fact?

My D-III undergrad with 1000 students had a baseball player go on to be World Series MVP. That doesn’t really mean anything though.

Which thing am I flat out wrong about? Their NCAA tournament record? Their last National Championship? I believe those were the primary facts I attested to. Look it started out tongue in cheek (though it does stretch credulity a bit that they would cover up for an athlete given their lack of powerhouse status) but to

You posted a quote that included a link to the PDF Yale report, correct? The first portion titled “Introduction” goes from page 2 to the secodn paragraph of page 3. That Introductory letter is signed and dated. To wit:

and seriously, out of all of this, this is what you are butt hurt about? I’m sorry you couldn’t get into a school with a good athletic program.

quite competitive...just not competitive enough in men’s basketball to regularly make the tournament. When was their last Basketball national championship? 1901.

Page 3 is dated February 15, 2016.

“You keep maintaining that he was expelled for something else.”
No, I keep maintaining we have no idea what he was expelled for.

“Every news outlet points to rumors about sexual assault, rumors you mentioned in your very first post.”

And every news outlet goes to great pains to point out that these are rumors that they

Yale’s basketball team has been to the NCAA tournament four times. Their combined record is 0-4. The last time they were there was 1962. Clearly, covering the basketball team is the powerhouse of the university. (note they made the tournament this year without the Captain, so your last point seems moot).

wow, someone doesn’t like the Ivies being made fun of, I guess?

“I’m not suggesting he was expelled for rumors at all” Look, from the first post you brought up the contention that he wasn’t just expelled for rumors. I agree. But it isn’t relevant because nobody has claimed here that he was expelled for rumors. I said this again and again but you keep saying the same thing.

I appreciate you trying to tie this to some actual data, but we don’t know that these are the same person. How many Yale students were expelled for non sexual assault reasons? If that number is zero then we can probably conclude that this one person is the same as the basketball player. If not, then all we have is a

There is so much distance between you and the point.

Jezabel also reported rumors that the basketball team was going to walk out on their game last Saturday, but apparently the rumors were inaccurate as rumors often are.

What rape allegations? Do we have anything that we can rely upon as accurate that actually indicates there was a rape allegation? Do we have a victim? Do we have a report to the college? Do we have a judicial determination by the college? Do we have a police report?

The only reason that everyone is silent is that

um, this is the ivy league, they are lucky to field a sports team at all. Besides, you seem to keep misunderstanding what the term “rumor” refers to. It doesn’t refer to a rumor that he did something, it is that what he did is only rumors (i.e., no actual disclosure of what he was expelled for). These two things are

The rumors are to what he was expelled for, not that he was expelled for rumors of having committed a sexual assault. He could have been expelled for any number of reasons and right not that seems to be a matter of pure speculation.
