I find your treatment of Vikings to be insulting to us who are their decedents. Careful in your glass house.

Your description would seem to rule out dressing like a Roman or Greek in a toga.

I'd say that is not quite correct. Threats of future crimes require reporting. (in some circuits, but not all). However, most states base the privilege as similar to attorney-client privilege.

I disagree. The reporting applies if there is a threat of a future crime, not past crimes.

I'm pretty sure I couldn't stomach actually listening to it!

The devil is always in the details. Traditionally all the usual privileges were sacrosanct, but there have been carve outs in a number of situations and the facts will have to be applied to find out how they play out here. The motives are well meaning by those that have chipped away at the privileges and the victims

the police usually don't arrest you for something immoral but not illegal.

so no confessional in church and no seeking counselling.

I would expect that the tapes are inadmissible if they were recorded during a therapy session with a licensed therapist. He sounds evil, but we have privileges like this for good reason.

Uh Oh, my marriage is dooommmeeddd!!

please specify

I'm pretty sure Gawker made a profit on the Hogan sex tape they posted.

well she did say "sex crime" and there is no sex crime as far as I'm aware.

I don't think one is missing the point when they explicitly identify and agree with said point but still want to comment on another aspect. Are you saying that all other words are immune from critique if it separate from the main thesis?

The usage of "or" suggests it is one or other other so I think ClassicMoviesFan is pretty justified in that interpretation. You are reading an "and" into the quote.

Yes, not enough coffee today so my phrasing is poor. You are correct. DCMA is probably the best way to get them removed, but it has the drawback of failing to punish the person who put them online to begin with.

You are correct that she has a copyright (for photos she took herself), but you are getting at the problem, which is the remedy. If they aren't distributed for commercial use (i.e., sold) the remedies are few and far between.

you opinion =|= the law

"meaning some of those pics were a sex crime." by the photographer in particular, so you are looking to bust some boyfriends/girlfriends?

you are mixing the crimes there. Even if "Theft for the purpose of sexual pleasure—sex crime" you have to show that was the intent. Maybe the hacker's intent was to embarrass or to make money. You have to prove intent. Moreover, her comment was to viewers who did not commit theft or any other crime by looking.
