SFB also has several black members.

Yes, I feel like there are quite a few Latin and Asian dancers, but that could be more to going to the San Francisco Ballet, which seems more diverse than most

or more importantly, the artistic directors of the companies

It is also interesting from an audience development perspective. The audience at the ballet in my city is mostly white and Asian. Many US countries are trying to find ways to broaden the audience appeal to people of color

I would agree with that

I'm not so sure, but purely from anecdotal evidence....so I could be wrong more generally. After reading Henry Louis Gates Jr.'s story about Pushkin in The Root and was talking about it with my Russian wife she was "of course, everyone in Russia knows that"

exactly, hence my pun on no people of African dissent in Russia...few outside of Russia know of Pushkin's African heritage.

I agree. I also think that they are ignoring the mindset of classical companies like the Bolshoi and Marinski. Everyone has to look the same because it is an aesthetic choice. For example, the dancers are all approximately the same height. If you are too short, you will never be allowed to perform and you go to other

Pushkin disagrees

The record is a fall of 32 floors with only minor injuries

Yes, though they do this after they reach terminal velocity since they relax. Initially they are curled up. That is why the survival is actually worse for short falls than for long falls. We actually studied this in Physics...that is why science is cool

Are my posts being deleted by accident or did I just offend you in some way by pointing out the legal definition of extortion?

I think that is mostly correct. The legal definition of extortion, which goes back to 1946, does not cover threat of economic harm as alleged in the present case. This is an argument to legislate changes in how companies like Yelp operate and not a condemnation of the legal process that worked exactly as it should.

back in 1946 apparently.

Yelp is a terrible company. However, I think you need to re-read the legal definition of "extortion"

"threatening economic harm to induce a person to pay for a legitimate service is not extortion" It is right there in the second paragraph of the summary.

wrong article, I'm a dork.

You are missing the point. The point wasn't "moral equivalency." The point was that your absurd hyperbolic statements don't actually add anything to the conversation and merely show ignorance

Just as much as Jez likes to post things that are subsequently disproved.

Except he never said it was ok at work.
