Up to you. There are fans that think Demon's is the peak of the Soul's series and that it went downhill with Dark, others disagree. Personally I'd experience it yourself if you can/want to but I'd watch some playthrough vids first, then lore or you'll be all over the place.

Ah The Pursuer! You can use those weapons on him, one is enough to take 3/4 off but it's pretty easy is you learn his attack pattern and strafe.

Start with Demon's Souls for sure. It's a seperate entry not tied to Dark Souls. Story is as important as you want it to be. It isn't spelled out, you get an intro but it leaves you with questions and it's up to you to discover them through NPC dialogue, item descriptions and general atmosphere.

Basically some people think that Manus is the Furtive Pygmy though it's a fan theory.

Average gamer dude here, 20 hours till I completed it, think Assassin's Creed mixed with Batman Arkham games. Combat is most excellent and it truly makes you feel like a badass after a few skills unlock. It's rare for a game to get it right but they did it.
