If the signs are even slightly buzzing in your head then it's probably right. The fact that they said something as silly as "I might explode if we meet in person" is weird to me. Sounds like a silly teenager or some boy trolling.

I don't get sick that often but when I do I try to avoid gaming and just watch some TV series or anime etc. Anything that doesn't engage me too much cause I usually have a bad headache when sick.
