I’m partial to Jeep’s High Velocity. It has no metallic in it whatsoever, but it’s somehow extremely reactive to light. It has the slightest tinge of green that makes it seem like it actually glows with energy. The black and baby blue accents on the hybrid models contrast it perfectly as well, giving the whole thing a

I was hoping for the Magneto again, but man oh man that Vacationeer is everything a concept truck should be. Just beautiful.

Compared to the 3.6/6 speed in my Caravan, I’ll take more shifting over the sluggish response from that trans. A pacifica has the exact same hp and weighs more, yet feels like it has 50 more horsepower, just because it always seems to be either in the right gear, or a split second away from it.

The Etorque is neat, but it only seems to operate when taking off from a dead stop or when starting the engine. It does make the automatic stop start INCREDIBLY smooth and fast, so I like it.

I really feel like 8 speeds is perfection. Rams, despite the Hemi and 3.6l probably being the oldest/most dated/least powerful in their respective class never feel down on power or like theyre in the wrong gear. That transmission and its tuning covers the engine’s ass like no other.

These ratings are a very fickle thing, too, I’d like to know what goes into the ratings, there are some vehicles that arent even close, and some that are way better than the numbers suggest. I’ve driven a LOT of trucks home from the lot (60 mile round trip, 1/2 highway 1/2 steep hilly backroads)

Ahh! Thanks for the S10 SS mention. I have one, and it was an absolute ball to drive. Even had it’s own bespoke Gauge setup with a very Euro style 240 degree sweeping tach, that just ruled so hard. It met an untimely death to a pine tree ( F I L had a diabetic emergency while driving it and crashed into a tree) But it

I love it. We stayed under MSRP all through covid and after, no add ons and no markups. Our customers are in good shape and able to trade out because of it. But MANNNNN the FB car sales groups have a LOT of sales guys singing the blues, “My customer is 30k upside down in her 4 runner/bronco/telluride and she hates it

I never hear much about these, but having driven one, they are such a delightful little machine.

I’m interested to know what the issue at hand is, because these things are safetied to the point of annoyance as it is. The things will literally lock themselves into limp mode if there’s so much as an error code in the airbag system. We’ve sold a ton of these and had very few issues, but nearly every one that has had

A $1500 set of Sticky Mickeys!

This is slick as hell, and it would be awesome to see more. The collabs have been fun so far!

Ohhhh I wasn’t aware you were talking a NEW car. I had just assumed you were on a used one, and the store you bought from had taken it in at a much lower amount, or got lucky and didnt have a big service bill.

Here’s the thing with that though: We don’t have the ability to magically change the numbers in our vehicle inventory system, for obvious reasons. Everyone at a dealership has to answer to someone, and the sales folks and sales managers that you will deal with can absolutely not manipulate things like cost,

Being in the business, you meet a lot of people that have worked at other dealers, or otherwise had experience with them. There’s no rhyme or reason other than maybe urban vs. Rural dealers, with rural dealers tending to be MUCH more transparent and focused on customer service. We’re a CDJR store, and customer service

Bingo. If you know the car you’re looking for, you have a good idea of what your credit is, and let me know what your tax rate is and how long you want to finance it, It takes no longer than 10 minutes to have you your numbers.

As someone in the business, they’re absolutely right. I’m lucky to work at a place that doesn’t pay commission, but most places pay the salesperson 15-20% on front end (Gross profit on sale price) and another 10 on back end (marked up financing, warranties, etc.)

I’m going to leave everything political, economical, social, etc. out of this and just comment on the track.

I was so mentally ready for this to be a lot of bad news, but I am swooning. I think its absolutely terrific.

I owned and operated a tire shop for a little over a decade, this was a great write up!
