Honestly, and this is coming from a Mopar guy here, I really think they’d be better to just let Chrysler die, and roll with the pacifica as a Dodge. Let go of this “Dodge is the performance brand” and roll Ram back in as well. Let them be a full line automaker once again, with cars, trucks, vans, and Suvs.
I don’t think they’ll be cross shopped enough for it to matter. Like, Grand Cherokees and Durangos are both “midsize 3 row” but its VERY rare someone has me show them both a grand cherokee AND a durango. It would be the same thing here. The importance is the size class here. The compact CUV is covered by the Dart,-ahem…
My Master plan for Chrysler:
Man, I guess I really never thought of the amount of people that buy EVs without home charging. It is problem though, that could be solved with vehicles set up like the Ramcharger.
Still union, so supporting worker’s rights abroad and supporting domestic companies that use union labor at home. But good point!
Chevy builds a nice looking, nice driving, safe, and modern Suv and prices it at $20 grand.
It doesnt matter if you have 2 inches of snow under your tires or 10, to keep forward momentum in snow you need to have some kind of grip. Getting down beneath the snow and touching hard ground is great, but heres the problem: More often than not, the tires want to climb up on the snow as soon as they move, and any…
They really did a terrific job with it, and kept it subdued enough to where this design will no doubt go a couple decades without ever looking dated. That’s no small feat with a modern car.
Know what I really like about this? Look at how tall it actually is. They made it look this good while keeping a high enough roofline that it’s going to be useful as a CAR. It’s going to be easy to get in and out of, and looks like visibility will be good as well. I can’t tell you (as a salesman AND someone who plans…
Oh that’s absolutely the reason. That, and this is a MASSIVE generalization, but I believe it to be true: Some brands get a massive reputation for reliability when its honestly just the fact that the typical buyers of said brand tend to care for their cars better.
Right, the whole “these last forever” thing kinda loses it’s luster to me when they’re opened up for a new timing belt and intake gaskets and fresh everything every 75,000 miles. You do all the maintenance to MOST engines that these REQUIRE, you’ll have a 300,000 mile engine.
This is where the internet and reputations get really annoying.
It’s not the tires, its the physics.
I look at these trucks as thier own model, though. Because if someone just wants an old fashioned regular cab truck, without a bunch of bells and whistles, well, here it is. Is it outdated? Sure it is! But these trucks still drive great, are actually EXTREMELY reliable, and the body style has been around for 15 years,…
Death wobble is such a strange thing. I’ve had brand new Jeeps do it with less than 2000 miles, and I’ve had 200,000 mile jeeps with completely SMOKED front ends go 80mph down the road smooth as glass.
Not gonna lie the ad has me hyped.
I drove through there last weekend, there’s people that just moved on and kept on living life, but the place is still largely like a ghost town.
