No interest in fighting. But...

Does Garbage’s “#1 Crush” count?

Now playing

I’ve read an interview where Elvis Costello mentions that. He also had a guy tell him that he and his new bride danced to Elvis’s song “I Want You” at their reception! THAT song is fucking terrifying! The only way you could possibly misinterpret the lyrics is if you can’t speak English!

Insert Nick Cave song here.

Maybe you remember Fantasy Island, though no one would blame you if you didn’t.”

I don’t know. I think he still has to work to beat depressed tropical vacation Holt.

I always slightly dread Pimento turning up, but it’s not because he’s a bad character. It’s that he’s a lot, and I think he drags the show down if he’s there for more than one episode at a time. I found his romance with Rosa difficult, specifically because it meant... well, extended Pimento, and that’s not an energy I

I like Pimento, but dude’s gone from a quirky & full-on yet competent detective to an incoherent raving lunatic.

This show is generally really bad at reigning its characters in.

I’m on the side of indifference.....but where’s that guy who confessed on Kinja, in front of the whole AV Club, that he and his wife once roleplayed as Potterverse characters in full robes to get in the mood? He should have an opinion.

That describes most backyard BBQ, and most BBQ in general really. Even eating it at restaurants I couldn’t figure out the appeal of tri-tip, then I had good tri-tip and it clicked. BBQ is not particularly hard to make, but so, so many people screw it up.

I never knew there was a “Santa Maria BBQ menu” and we’ve always served ranch beans, salad and garlic bread with our tri-tip whenever we’re grilling for a group. It just seemed like the right combo. No mac-and-cheese with our menu, though. Pop a couple of cold beers, and it’s a party!

Tri tip may be the perfect all-around cut. Definitely one of my favorites. It’s richly “beefy”, somehow also both tender and pretty lean. It’s great with just salt and pepper seared to mid-rare as a steak, or takes marinades well for other dishes. It’s also generally pretty dang reasonably priced too.

Inverse here - raised in Cali, ate tri-tip regularly, and haven’t seen it since leaving the state. Even worse, is living in other regions of the country having to deal with all the douchebags who get all territorial about their regions bbq being the only true bbq. You don’t think those burnt ends are ‘authentic’?

It’s not hard to understand his supporters. They support him no matter what. Any true information that would tend to eat away at that support is fake, while any lies that tend to make people support him are gospel truth.

Personally, as a person of color, I appreciated that Hillary was willing to speak some objective truth about the bigotry motivating Trump voters (although I think she understated the number of “deplorable.”). It was refreshing to see Clinton, of all people, frankly acknowledge the reality that people weren’t somehow

I guess if by ‘owning themselves’ you mean ‘used it to mobilize people who don’t usually vote to get out and vote for Trump’ then you’re right...?

“Its the inclusions of the back-office people that so few are going to even know existed that get me.”

You’re kind of a jerk, huh?

Yeah, because designing a strategy based around appealing to people who cry endlessly for smaller and cheaper is always a winning business.... /s
