Grade 1 teacher here, so I am pretty adept at reading invented spelling. Pretty sure it't supposed to say "I come in peace."

"fixed"

The combination of the body language, the weddingesque dresses, and the serious expressions creates something that I think I'd find off even if I didn't know the context. The only one that doesn't look odd to me is the one with the two very little girls, probably because their father isn't hovering the way some others

These are incredibly disturbing.

Not to mention our laws regarding asylum seekers- the horribly racist, inhumane ones that are actually against international law...

Thanks, I'm on the other side of the canal in Fremont and the sole shooter was in custody so we are all fine. It's just crazy. I always feel so insulated from anything bad here because Seattle is so safe, and Fremont/Queen Anne/Ballard is especially safe. It's really just surreal.

I live in Capitol Hill, reasonably far from Fremont, but this genuinely spooked me. Crazy stuff does happen in Seattle but I, probably naively, never thought there would be a school shooting. Stay safe, Seattlites!

great, blame the women. The she devil made them do it.

And that face is exactly representative of how seriously they take women, full stop.

Because they're Big Serious Men, and they are having a laugh at doing something as silly as doing a Lady Thing. Silly little ladies and their silly Lady Brains!

Reminds me of these, which are also stupid. A man doing a woman thing? How silly! Because men and women are so fundamentally different that a man doing a woman thing would be so shameful and absurd it must be funny.

Just keep stoking those fires, boys. We'll be out in full force come Election Day thanks to your continued promotion of your own idiocy.

It's not a huge deal in and of itself, but it's representative of how these legislators, who are actively passing anti-women legislation (and disciplining women for saying "vagina" during a reproductive health debate??!?!?!?? I just can't with that), basically treat women's rights and representation as a joke.

Sorry to state the obvious, but "morally underdeveloped, hateful, jealous, little minds" is a great way to describe the people on Fox News.

Yeah, I think I'd rather go to a super old-fashioned church than one with the whole "trying to be hip" thing. They have the whole faux-rock band thing at my parents' church too and I just don't like it. I don't know why; it just seems insincere to me - insincere to both rock music and religion.

Basically what MRA activists think we Jez commenters do all day:

Saying "not-woman-hating MRAs" is like saying "non-racist klan members." To paraphrase from a source I'm too lazy to dig up at the moment, misogyny isn't a bug in the MRA movement, it's a feature.

That would also be a good name for what we believe in, but we're not going to dismiss all the hard work that has been done thus far with the name "feminism" attached to it. It's too late in the game to change the name, but as I'm sure you know, we want equality. That obviously benefits men as well as women.

Once the fight isn't lopsided any more, we can talk about changing the name.

Definitely.
