Come to California, specifically the Central Valley, the main red area of the state. Many of the residents think our water challenges are completely fake and the solution is to dam up every river in the state and give all the farmers water for free.

Where I live they made it so that you need a license to recycle nonferrous metals but that just means the thieves have to sell at a discount to someone with a license.

I mean you would think so, but also most of those places have ZERO incentive to ask questions. I think where I live they did make it illegal to buy scrap copper. Did a little looking and I think they passed something in 2013 to cut down or prevent it.

Seems like maybe another thing to do is crack down on facilities that purchase scrap metal without asking questions.
