Because of course I have nothing better I could be doing with my day.

Maybe it's been said too many times, but I think it's worth repeating: Why does the pride need Simba to come back to overthrow Scar's clearly inept rule? There are several lionesses in this pride and they're just hanging around hoping maybe Simba will come back and rescue them from this one skinny, effete dude?

"Oh if life were made of moments, even now and then a bad one... but if life were only moments, then you'd never know you'd had one."

These videos are usually pretty funny but this one fell flat IMO. Half the "flaws" pointed out are intentional. e.g. Olaf has a sense of time? Yeah, he can also talk, and he knows about summer and all kinds of ridiculous stuff. THAT'S THE JOKE.

Translation, for those who think this poor schmuck hasn't done anything wrong:

THANK YOU

Okay, the "Eskimo" one? If you take off the fringe, and instead of saying you're an Eskimo you call it "Snow Queen" or "Arctic Explorer" or something... turns out it's a pretty cute costume. And warm! Which is good because it can get chilly in late October. Shame to ruin a decent costume with all that racism.

I'm not getting it. Maybe it's a generational thing? You're young, you have a really great job that you work really hard at. Eventually you need to move on. So you do. This happens to pretty much everybody, except for the part about it being a great job in the first place. For most people it's a shitty job and they do

Please stop saying "homies."

"fightin' over yesterday" <— there's your problem right there

These are all great points... that were already made 2 months ago in this blog: http://soapboxinggeek.tumblr.com/post/40637130039/the-oz-series-the-power-of-women

Now I think you're giving them too much credit... But you're right — with a better caption, that could've (should have?) been the joke.

I feel like the real problem here is that you can't talk about women freeing themselves from the constraints of modesty without also, SIMULTANEOUSLY talking about women freeing themselves from the restraints of sexualization.

I think (?) the joke is making fun of the stock photo. It's trying to be an internet meme type of joke, where someone finds a photo and adds a humorous caption. So in this case, you have the man surprising the woman with a gift, but he's approaching her from behind and holding the gift in an awkward way. The caption

If these people's profile pictures are to be believed, they're largely very young. So they're in for a very disappointing future. Sorry, guys!

I hope she never tries to perform surgery on me!

"How would you feel if you were assured before going into surgery that your surgeon was the beneficiary of affirmative action in medical school? "

"Way to waste time! That's a class act!" Was that Rachel Dratch?
