I think John Williams might have had a shot at winning this year if he hadn’t walked back his promise to retire just a few days ago. He might have gotten some legacy votes if people thought it was his last score with Spielberg. Sure, he’s doing Dial of Destiny this summer with Spielberg producing, but those kind of

One of his first well-known scores was the excellent Phillip Marlowe story The Long Goodbye from ‘73, so I’m excited to hear what he could do with another detective story like Bullitt.

The Lawrence Kasdan-written and -directed romantic comedy French Kiss with Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline. I remember really enjoying it when it came out in the mid 90's. As far as I can tell, the only way to watch it now is a bare bones standard def dvd.

Love Love Love Love Love me some Silverado. Endlessly quotable. Watch it at least once a year.

Well, in about 2/3 of the country right now, you can just put some filled ice cube trays out on the front porch and wait an hour or so.

I thought about printing out all 800 pages of the Jan 6 Committee report and just setting it on the coffee table without calling attention to it. Then when he starts in on one of his rants, I’ll just pick it up and begin quietly leafing through it.

Does this mean I won’t be able to go to my parents house on Saturday night when my blowhard MAGA brother-in-law will be there? I should note that my parents live four houses down from me, but I’ll use any excuse I can find.

Even though I know it wasn’t a realistic dream, I really wanted this movie to open and flop, just to spite Cameron’s big ego. But watching it do just ok, and not lighting the world on fire like the first one?  That might be just as much fun.

Picanick basket lids.

Maybe now we can get a movie that’s just two hours of him doing this:

Can someone who’s had one tell me, do they put pickles on their Chicken Biscuits for breakfast? Or is it an option? I got a bacon egg cheese biscuit this weekend and it had a damn pickle on it. It was 6:15 in the morning, and I couldn’t figure out why they would even have the pickles out at that time of day, unless

Rest in peace to a Daughter of the American Revolution and a proud recipient of the Francis Scott Key Key.

Somebody who’s read the book, does Mr. McAlister make an appearance?

Fine. But if you can think of a better way of finding and killing Sarah Conner, I’d like to hear it.

How about You Only Live Twice? I’m always fascinated that he cowrote a James Bond movie.

I feel the same about Yellowstone. It’s absurd but I keep watching it.

Same here. Anything that’s even close to being usable that’s put on the curb will be snapped up within a day. My parents live around the corner from us and put an broken down old couch/love seat combo on the curb, and it was gone that night. A week later, we woke up in the morning to find those same pieces on the curb
