Wow, there are so many challengeable, or even discredited, assumptiona in this, I don’t know where to begin; from the role of regulatory bodies to the invocation of the “trickle down” strawman.

“Trump Threatens To Repeal Fuel Economy And Emissions Regulations”

Um... is there really a labor movement???

let me fix this...

I think the lesson we’ve learned over and over again is that top down planning does not work and this is especially true at the federal level.

Yeah, I think I understand who you are pretty clearly.

No. A desire to look deeper into the data is what I’m saying, because no matter what the real causes are, pursuing them is the right way. Jumping on the racism bandwagon because of any gross statistic is the limited perspective.

“In either scenario, according to you we shouldn’t worry about that because your wife, and my wife for that matter, haven’t had any problems with Uber/Lyft.”

Um, did you pay attention to the actual point I agree with?

That’s not really an argument though... is it?

It’s always a concern if a company is defrauding ANYONE. As a non-native in New York, I’m pretty sure I got screwed by a couple of cabbies by taking “odd” routes.

But apparently your experience is anecdotal and therefore not important.

You’re the one that thinks it’s compelling that on a long-enough time scale, Free Market always rewards the best companies and products.

I’m quoting the title directly..

Are you daft? The title of the article is “Uber Is Quietly Terrible For Women And Black People: Study”

This is a good example of someone making wrong assumptions and taking them to their logical conclusion.

If a competitor to Uber is seen as less racist, why shouldn’t they win more business?

I have no doubt about that.

“If the study provides impetus for Uber to anonymize the app a bit more to make it harder for drivers to express their racism or sexism, is that good or bad?”

Oh.. so just like the gender pay gap? Gross statistics don’t tell the whole story, try again.
