“It’s not clear why the repairs were never made despite the notices.”
“It’s not clear why the repairs were never made despite the notices.”
Let’s not spend time trying to figure out why this accident happened and place blame. It’s irrelevant to the story. There are many thousands of accidents like this every day and yes, I said accidents, meaning they weren’t on purpose nor the result of significant negligence.
It’s a bit early imho... Let’s see how this thing actually plays out.
An authoritarian government is great in that it can do whatever it wants without compromise. When they get it right it can be awesome, when they get it wrong... 6 million jews die. If you ask me, the downside’s not worth it.
That depends on how many orders are placed... they cannot satisfy infinite demand, or even 1 million orders, in a reasonable amount of time. I know that is unlikely, but price theory tells us when you put a pricing ceiling on something, you end up with a shortage.
Uh, no, because supply and demand affects price. That’s a real thing.
“Gas is so cheap that dealers are actually having to work to sell trucks to oil barons.”
Are you being dense or do you not realize Texas has the most wind power generation in the US?
“Part of the appeal of an electric car that’s supposed to be for the masses will, of course, be in the quelling of range anxiety.”
Thanks for the Model 3 design analysis!!! Now we know if our eyes are lying to us or not.
Uh no. A truck with 24s should not be any kind of Texas poster child.
sorry, that was 1 billion kilometers, not miles.
Hey, well at least now we have some perspective even though the better stat is deaths per 100 million miles driven, since in the US we drive more. What does deaths per capita mean if everyone drives only 100 miles/yr (I know this is ludicrously low, but it shows this method reflects more than just driver competence).
From the linked article... “The most important thing from my perspective is that we do move down this path. Self-driving cars are the future. There’s no question that is where we should go.”
Will we ever force law enforcement or fire/paramedics to use self-driving vehicle? I think at least in the next 100 years, no.
I don’t disagree, but do you know what the death rate per mile driven in Germany is? Do you know what it is in the US or how it compares to other countries?
What you should focus on is the death rate, not gross numbers. I mean, if you actually want a proper perspective... you may not.
Needs some tweaking here and there, and yeah, lose the doors... but not bad.
Well hello chrome/aluminum looking type window trim...
I see what you did there...
