Oh thank God, they're not calling it Fant4stic anymore.

It's been tricky. Watching in pairs has helped somewhat (If I wasn't planning to already I probably still would have gone straight to this episode after the last cliffhanger). I'm not going to be trying to keep up with the reviews now though, so I'll probably [try to] keep at least a day or two between each of the

The real Jar Jar sounded like Noël Coward and had a mean golf swing. If he saw Lucas' shambled caricature he'd sue him to kingdom come (he also held several law degrees).

It didn't help my interpretation of Fisk when I found out D'Onofrio was the baddie in Men in Black. It's so hard to take him seriously when I can picture the cockroaches crawling out of his face.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO… actually, that sounds so awesome I just wouldn't care.

I maintain that for most shows - particularly ones of the variety and quality Netflix have put out recently - a slight binge at the start of the season is okay, and even helpful; anyone needs a few episodes to really get to grips with a new show, and even a new season when there's new characters and a change of

Which was (or seemed to be) the approach to Orange Is The New Black (reviewing 2 a week), which I more or less read along with and didn't seem to pick up on any spoilers. I hoped I could treat Daredevil the same way…

And didn't that just suck? It solidifies what I hate about the Netflix release method, it doesn't encourage the same pause for reflection and discussion that a weekly or even daily release does. And if you try and maintain that, someone's going to ruin it for you.

I was taking my time with it largely because (with most shows) I enjoy the episodic discussion and speculation, and the AV Club is one of my favourite places for that. That's that blown then.

"deceiving Ben so that she has someone to accompany her is an extremely selfish move on Karen’s part that will have catastrophic consequences down the line."

FINALLY! Where's his religion been for the last 7 episodes? Everything else so far has felt so unoriginal - often terrifically executed, but still unoriginal - that I couldn't really get into it. But Matt's faith is what makes him different to Batman or Green Arrow or any of the current MCU heroes, and it dropped off

Ah, right. Well, that's true (although we don't know what Deathlok was doing after season 1 of SHIELD…). That doesn't qualify as retconning though :P

I'm still not seeing the evidence here. Despite the language used the sentiment is clearly referring to any incidental destruction of property, so doesn't necessarily link to any known or unknown superheroes besides those already referenced.

He could have said it in anticipation of more. Also, do we know just how long after Avengers this takes place?

Well that seemed pretty obvious to me to be referring to Avengers (a lot of smashing people through buildings there). They'd already referenced the battle of New York near the start, that quote just seemed a natural followup. Any time any 'hero', be they enhanced or not, does damage to property they can make money out

Oh God, he's just the worst thing about GoT, isn't he? I'm sure the writing's not helping him, but his performance has gone from a mysterious, conflicted man to a creep with less subtlety and nuance than Dick Dastardly. (And his accent has reverted completely to Irish now, which wouldn't be a problem if he'd just

People don't know that Daredevil is enhanced (at least not yet - I'm only keeping up with the reviews), so he wouldn't necessarily be on SHIELD's radar (they have supposedly got a list of 'gifted's, but Murdoch wouldn't be on it).

Also add in the villain who wants to save the city by destroying it - done by at least Arrow and two out of the last three Batman movies.

I'm actually the other way around - I think Charlie Cox is great (and very charismatic, as has been pointed out elsewhere), but I find D'Onofrio to be giving an awkwardly campy performance, particularly with his near-constant growly voice. I mean, he's nowhere near as bad as GoT's Littlefinger, but still.

That final moment was fantastic, and the best thing about a fairly bland episode.
