Gotcha. Sorry, it's a long article, I'm still working my way through it. This is really eating into my Friday, I hope you're happy.

"Stephen Stucker [who played Otto]"

Is there a link? Because Felicity only found out Ray's suit was working in episode 17, at the end of which he was shot in the Mayor's office, which led straight onto last week's episode. I'm not entirely sure when the two of them took the time out to go on a double date ;)

Umm… so when did Ray and Felicity go to Central City? Because this episode picked up literally straight from last week's, and Ray's been critically injured/in hospital for the last two weeks. They establish here (in several ways) that Ray and Felicity have been, so when did that happen?

Movie first. Then we'll start thinking about the next six seasons.

I've always assumed each season was covering about 3 months, so 5 seasons would finish Piper's 15 months. Most showrunners nowadays start with a 5 season plan, no matter how much that deviates.

There's also already 'Insect Queen', and 'Queen Bee' just makes a lot more sense.

Seriously? You go for 'Insect Queen' before 'Queen Bee'?

Well, Iris isn't right for a hell of a lot of the time… although she's marginally more so than the other characters. She DOESN'T have a right to know everything, particularly when it's another person's secret (honestly, this should have been Eddie's main defence right from the off), so her final ultimatum comes off as

If you read random crap into everything you wind up with empty pretentiousness where art should be. Trust me, I've studied Pinter.

In an episode about cyber-terrorism!

Definitely a classic-feeling episode. I'd say it was flawed, including in some of the ways the review suggests, but it was just terrifically funny with fantastic performances from all, particularly the newcomers (I adore Keith David's laugh).

Every episode I just wait for his smile. The simplicity, the naivety, the vanity, everything about him is encapsulated in his fantastic smile.

I've only seen Cucumber (and just the first 4 episodes) but something about the whole fight at the end of episode 1 didn't sit right with me, and I couldn't figure out what it was… until I found this reference to the show from Davies' partial docu-biography The Writer's Tale:

Since The AV Club were reviewing one a day I figured it'd make sense to approximate that pace as well, so I could keep track of the discussion as I watched each episode… but trying to weed out the discussion of the episode in question from the discussion of the episodes ahead is proving tiresome. I might see how I

"Wait a minute, there's a purpose around here… Nah, must have imagined it."

Man, this show is just artless, isn't it? Even Mooney's escape, which could have had some really fun and even arresting visuals was just so incredibly bland.

Oliver, please stop referencing the rest of the season. You're edging closer to spoilers (eg. I didn't even know Vanessa was going to be in it again, so way to blow that), and it's just frustrating as someone trying to watch along with the reviews to keep reading 'As the series goes on you'll see…'

And banged the drums.

Ack. I know a lot of shows (including SHIELD) get away with just as/more bizarre breaks from reality, but if a show is claiming to show the gritty consequences of the characters' actions it has to… show the gritty consequences of the characters' actions. Otherwise you might as well stick 'ACME' on the side of the fire
