I was hoping it would be a documentary and we would be able to see Giamatti commit an actual murder on television. Disappointed.

Flanagan is great at tackling projects that build upon existing works (often existing works that don’t have great reception) in ways that are surprisingly good. It’s not like he can ruin the Exorcist franchise any more than it already has been. I’m interested.

I think that’s fair. I would definitely say that he’s always been up his own ass, he just seemed to stop doing coke after Magnolia so the way that he was up his own ass changed.

Is it because they’re not good or because they’re dour? Because for the first one, I disagree but it’s all personal taste. For the latter, I would say even when his movies are dark they’re still a lot of fun. His movies are never going to be as comedic as Boogie Nights or anything, but his movies are almost all pretty

Fair point. I should probably just grow the fuck up and finally check out Full House.

Watch media written for adults. Go see a Paul Thomas Anderson movie or something. I promise you, you’ll have fun. You can watch kids shit too (the Spiderverse movies are some of my favorite movies of all time), but that can’t actually be all you watch.

I’ve been on the internet for five minutes. That’s as close to a peer-reviewed study as we’ll ever get.

Sure. But so many of the people who insist that animation is for all ages only watch animated shows made for children. And that is pathetic.

Also attending were numerous 35-year-olds, continually insisting that animation isn’t a medium 0nly for children while also only watching animated content made for children.

I’m a moron. You’re totally right, I completely misunderstood what the article thought Drake was saying.

“If I was fucking young girls I promise I’d have been arrested

Again, a movie I have not seen and most likely will not see. Don’t give a fuck is someone disliked it (I probably wouldn’t like it either), seeing people act all puritan over blood and guts is pathetic and funny.

I bet he would crush it, but I kind of wish he would do more original stuff. Midnight Mass ruled, and I want to see him try to develop some more works that aren’t based on anything.

Weird that the strategy is to recreate buildings from animated movies instead of just renting actual buildings from live-action movies. I mean, I’m sure they’re already doing that, but still.

I would love to see Fielder returning to projects that are mostly comedic with an occasional heavy dose of sentimentality or cynicism, but I also think the concept of Fielder somehow turning chess anal beads into one of the most stress-inducing, cringeworthy things ever is incredibly funny.

I’m not saying that people aren’t allowed to not like it (like I said, I’m probably not gonna watch it because torture porn isn’t my thing, even though I can respect it). I just think acting like it is some kind of death knell for popular culture is actively stupid, not only because it is a weirdly conservative view

We don’t talk enough about mental torture. I’m trying to raise awareness.

Still remember when Terrifier 2 came out and people on this website acted like it was the death of cinema that a horror movie that features copious amounts of violence released and was popular, as if that isn’t what the horror genre was built on. I still haven’t seen it (not my thing), but it was bizarre to see

He looks like William H Macy doing a Nick Cave cosplay.
