Great post. To add to this, the cars should bright neon or some other high-visibility color. The Police need to be seen as a beacon of light and safety that citizens should feel protected by, not as something dark that skulks in the shadows trying to catch you.

Perception by association. Enough news clips showing Fords being driven by police running over protesters and the association between the two is made. Regardless of internal politics or the human factor, it’s effectively negative marketing and Ford’s only real control over this message is to stop supplying the prop.

I mean it’s clear to anyone with an ounce of gray matter that the police is essential to any society, and police will need cars to do their jobs. There should be no controversy at this.
