Boston sounds like a nightmare. I’ve read multiple stories of individuals buying parking spaces in downtown that exceed the national average of a 3 bedroom home. Sometimes I too think I need to move out of the Bay Area, because raising a family here would be very difficult for someone who earns $120k a year.

40k? That’s a relatively cheap car here in the Bay Area (home of the engineers). Then again, a 1500 square foot home in Los Gatos costing 2 million is also cheap. We live in crazyland.
