The BMW instrument cluster already does this. This is because the rpm gauge and the speedometer and there, but there's LCD displays all around them on every side. It could be a singular LCD or multiple ones, not sure.

It's called the Head-Up-Display. Available in all the BMWs as a standard or with the technology package option. That is the reason alone I got the mine, so I can pretend I am in a jet fighter. Pictures cannot do it justice, just go for a test drive and you'll fall in love, at least I did!
