I’ve never understood the “pandering” argument. Usually, when straight white dudes say it, they mean that the cultural object is targeted at somebody other than them. But when things are purposefully pandering to the straight white male demo (cf. Emma Frost’s outfit up there), it’s never criticized as “pandering.”
