Years of these fools arguing about how games aren’t taken seriously as art and they miss that this is like 99% because no one can actually appraise video games artistically or culturally and discuss them at length critically, flaws and all, because gamers start sending death threats and the studios themselves will not

One of the game’s main antagonists, a goblin named Ranrok, agrees with me. However, his problem is that he “goes too far,” resorting to violence in his pursuit of goblin liberation. This is such a common tactic for films and games to use. They create a villain who has reasonable objections to the shitty status quo,

For what it’s worth, Forspoken’s script isn’t that bad. Within the context of the game I found Frey’s character fairly well written. At the beginning of the game her initial wonder at the world and the cringy dialogue that accompanies said wonder is needed to show contrast when she realizes how messed up the

Could be wrong, but I think they meant it’s about Frey dealing with her personal issues and growing as a person to the point she doesn’t feel the need to “one up” people and learn to empathize with them instead. I’m still pretty early in the game... and not that long after that, you can see her feeling guilty about

That’s a natural response to being traumatized like that when the person hasn’t dealt with it properly, though. So the only problem would be if she doesn’t grow and change by the end.

Sure, although dealing with that is kind of what the plot is about.

Played through the main plot, currently taking it easier to complete extra stuff. A few observations:

There’s not a shadow of a doubt in my mind that, even if Forspoken had turned out to be a really solid game all the way through, it’d have been completely brigaded by the GamerGate crowd literally just because black woman.

I really like Forspoken. But it’s a case where the beginning of the game is just markedly worse than the mid and especially the end and you really do need to stick with it.

The beginning of the game is where the story is least interesting, the main character is most dislikable, you have limited combat options and they c

I wasn’t sure if was going to like Midnight Suns but have become slightly obsessed with it, although I’ve done the classic thing of doing too many side missions and now being slightly OP for the story.

I was on the fence about whether or not I would like Midnight Suns, but it’s absolutely my sort of thing and I’ve been enjoying it quite a lot. I’ve been playing it on the Steam Deck and, as such, my only major gripe is that is has had a tendency to crash out quite a bit when you start a new day or complete the hero

Finished Marvel’s Midnight Suns....and immediately went back in to New Game+ in search of a Platinum Trophy (will be the first ever on my PS5, I think?) I need to go full-dark (think Renegade from Mass Effect) in my card plays / dialogue choices, plus play a few more items (non-cards with free abilities you can craft

You haven’t read about trying permanent DST back in the 70s, have you?

Okay, FWIW, they’ve all said standard time is the way to go. Republicans like Marco Rubio have argued for DST year-round when that doesn’t make much sense and was shown at one point to be dangerous.

Elden Ring made me realize my gaming tastes have changed. Maybe it’s because I’m not 20 anymore, I don’t know.

Midnight Suns has taken over my life. You can join a book club with Captain America. You can go fishing with Spider-Man. Also, the combat’s cool. But you can pretty much go on dates with Wolverine, even if he’ll never *really* love you.

Anytime Tatiana Maslany appears on TV she deserves awards consideration & her as Jen/ She-Hulk fits this I think, she was more than up to the dual role, obviously

I sure do love the Horizon combat system. I spent an embarrassing amount of time in both games just roaming around looking for dinos to fight. Best part of both games, after an admittedly slow start.

It is really simple. If Aloy was a male character a lot of those people who found her too aggressive or mean would not have complained.

1.I could not agree more about HFW. The story went a little off the rails, but it remained a super enjoyable gaming experience. I have been surprised by some of the negativity around it.
